A BRIEF HISTORY OF AUCKLAND SWIMMING
In 1890 the Auckland Swimming Club initiated the move to form the National Association (now called Swimming New Zealand). Later, when regions, rather than clubs were to be affiliated directly to the national body, the Auckland Swimming Association was formed in 1906. The ASA celebrated its Centenary in 2006 and proudly claims to have more of its members placed on national teams than any other region.

The Anthony Mosse Classic is an annual feature of the Auckland Swimming calendar. It is an event ideally timed at the end of summer Swim Camps and leading in to Regional and National qualification and competition period.
